Ster-L-Ray Ultraviolet Germicidal Lamp
Hot Cathode Soft Glass Ultraviolet Germicidal Lamps
Hot Cathode Germicidal Ultraviolet Lamps produce short wave radiation
in the range of 253.7nm (nanometers) that have an excellent germicidal
effect. Ultraviolet germicidal lamps are similar to general fluorescent
lamps but are manufactured with a special glass which efficiently
transmits ultraviolet rays.
Hot Cathode lamps utilize tungsten filaments,
located inside each end of the lamp, which are coated with emission
material and, under normal operation, govern the life of the lamp.
Frequent starting of the lamp reduces the overall lamp life. Lamp
is also affected by extreme hot or cold temperatures. There are
several different lamps with varying lengths and watts to choose
from. Most of these lamps use a miniature bipin (G5) or medium bipin
(G13) base. Lamps can be used in a variety of air, water and surface
disinfection applications. Call and speak with one of our ultraviolet
application specialists to determine the type of lamp best suited
for your application.
